The College of Mathematics and Sciences comprises departments and faculty deeply committed to the spiritual and intellectual development of students in their respective disciplines. The hallmark of the college is the “hands-on” preparation that students receive so that they are ready to actively participate in their disciplines upon graduation. Through mentored research experiences with professors in senior capstone projects and internship placements, students learn to apply the theoretical knowledge they received in the classroom so that they are ready for the workplace or graduate education. The spiritual environment of BYU–Hawaii, coupled with the disciplinary training students receive, uniquely prepares students to enter the highly competitive markets of today’s global economy. Students emerge who are capable of serving others in church, community, and professional settings.
The College offers degrees in most of the traditional Math and Sciences disciplines. In addition, it contributes to the university's general education program, and houses the university ROTC program.
